Happy Birthday Govinda - V

Will the king of comedy be able to make a come-back? Will he be able to do a better job in his second innings as an actor? Will he be more selective about the movies he does? Personally, I feel a strong yes for all the above three. Because all said and done, the man is talented, natural, hard working and inspite of his problems he’s been having over the last 7 years, he still has some good friends in the film industry.

What do you guys think?

I think he will. He never went outside his comfort zones of fixed directors, so his talent could not be tapped at all. Now might be better.

Parth, I totally agree with you. I think he should totally go all out when it comes to selection of films and not restrict himself to a chosen few directors or one particular genre only. He's proven himself to be a good all rounder as an actor. He should try and experiment.

The reason I feel now it might be better because he doesn't have age on his side and hence he cannot afford to wait for the main lead to come his way. He should do more character oriented roles that have meat in it.

all rounder? lol he's already doing all films that r coming his way. He doesn't have a choice but Govinda's looking good after such a long while and I would want to see more of him well sure

I haven't actually seen any movies with Govinda yet but the trailer for Bhagam Bhag had the entire cinema laughing throughout the whole time it was playing, so it might turn out OK for him!

I hope he has learnt his lessons and will behave and take his job more seriously this time. Most of these stars don't know how to handle money or stardom.
Govinda has been a horrible politician, if he continues to give the film industry the same respect, he is bound to fail.
We all know why he got into politics, hope he does not have to continue in it.

Dear Exinator, Govinda's an all rounder alrigh! Since he has had no movies for the past 3-4 years, he has no choice but to take on whatever comes his way. Nonetheless, he's a proven allrounder. He's excelled at comedy, romance, action and drama. You have to look at his track record in the 80's and the 90's. he has been one of the most consistent performers. If you look at Filmfare Awards for the entire decade from the 1990 to about 2000 or 2001, he was probably one of the only actors to have been consistently nominated in the Best Actor category. I think it was almost for 9-10 years in a row or something.

Dear Maja,

I haven't seen Bhaagam Bhag myself. However, from the reviews that I have read, it seems he doesn't have much to do in the film and the movie actually entirely belongs to Akshay Kumar. Be that as it may, hope he gets better films with better actors to exploit his true potential.

Dear Girish,

I hope for his own sake, he improves upon his past mistakes. He has given many a producers grief during his hey days. Now that the tables are turned, he must make serious amends to his ways of working. Or else, it would be time for him to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the various film award ceremonies.
